There are five Spiritual Principles of Reiki, which are simple guidelines on how to live a good and fulfilling life. Although simple strategies, they are not always quite so easy to achieve

We can all benefit from following the rules and everyone around us will also feel the knock-on effect. You don’t have to be a Reiki practitioner to abide by these rules and even children can be guided in their everyday Lives by putting the Principles into practice.

Just for today do not anger.

This simply means that we should recognise and be aware of our feelings, but rather than suppressing any angry emotions that we may feel, we should try to deal with it in a constructive way by communicating how we feel to others, in a gentle way.  This will in time allow us to diffuse the anger in a more positive fashion.  Releasing the anger, while acknowledging it, will have a better outcome, and with understanding, will allow you to heal the situation that is causing the pain/anger in your Life.  Anger is just another emotion, but if left to fester, may cause us stress or possibly ill health.

Just for today do not worry.

Worrying creates tension and allows stress to build up in our mind and body. Worrying about something will not have any beneficial result on the eventual outcome.  Just for today acknowledge the love and support that is surrounding you.  Sometimes when we experience a worrying situation we may feel out of control and unable to help or fix things.  This still won’t make things any better in the long run. In times like this, remember to reconnect with the Universal love by meditation, talking, prayer, Reiki, or whatever will work for you as an individual.

Honour your teachers, parent and elders.

It is usually from our parents, elders and teachers that we first learn how to be good people.  It is their knowledge as well as the Life lessons we learn along the way that guides us through Life and pushes us in the right direction.  Their guidance moulds us as the adults of the future. Therefore, we should show them thanks, kindness and compassion on a regular basis.  Show gratitude for their precious time and wonderful gifts that have bestowed on you.

Earn your living honestly.

Honesty is being true to yourself.  By being dishonest you are not conducting your life in the way that the Universe wants you to. We must strive to live our Lives in a way that satisfies us and makes us feel that we have been the best version of ourselves that we can be. Earning a living honestly will fill you with satisfaction and pride in yourself, for a job well done.

Show gratitude to all living things.

In a Reiki session, we would always finish off by offering thanks for the healing that has taken place. This acknowledges the channelled Spiritual energy that has been shared, with love and gratitude. As individuals, we share the world with animals, plants, birds, and people of every nationality, religion and creed and we should show gratitude, compassion, kindness and love to each and every one.

By learning to live and practice the Principles of Reiki, we can strive and achieve to be better people.

A few years ago, I was at a party and was being introduced to a well-known Irish celebrity. He shook my hand, said, “Nice to meet you Bernie, and by the way I love your bright blue colour”.

Auras

I thanked him and we continued chatting for a while. This was much to the amusement of some of the people standing near me. When he went off to get a drink, one of his friends turned around and asked me what was all that about the bright blue colour? I explained that he had seen the colour in my Aura.

Every living person, animal, plant etc. on this earth is surrounded by what is known as an Aura. It is an electromagnetic energy field that surrounds us all. It is part of our life force. Mystics have known for thousands of years about these subtle bodies of energy and in recent years a special type of photography known as “Kirlian” has proven the existence of these energy radiations.

When you learn how to read someone, at first glance most people will see a soft white light surrounding the other person, and at a deeper level, various colours which usually radiate, vibrate or shimmer, will become evident. According to Aura experts, each colour in the Aura represents different aspects of our emotions, physicality and personalities etc.  These colours will be interpreted differently in each person and a reading will be unique to that individual.

Depending on what is going on in our Life at any given moment in time, different shades /hues/ colours will be visible to those who can read Auras. This is something that some people can do naturally, others can, if they wish, learn how to read Auras. This can be a useful tool in all walks of Life, whether used in business or pleasure, as it can often help us to tune into our loved ones or work colleagues and gauge how they are feeling. It could be described as part of our integral instinct. It can also be useful in warning us against mean or unscrupulous people, or on the other hand it may be useful for you to see how well other people are responding to you.

Auras can also give us signals when we meet someone new, or begin a relationship. What is often described as “Chemistry” between two people can be just a case of whether our Auras react well or indifferently to each other. If we feel at ease with another person, our Auras will gel and can begin to completely merge together as we begin to fall in love with the other person. This is often why, when we lose a loved one or split from someone we loved, we are left with an empty void, that can often be seen, felt or described as a hole in our Aura.

As a healer, tuning into a person’s Aura can often show significant important information as to the state of a person’s well-being, and can occasionally display minor physical ailments. This in turn may enable the healer or therapist to help clear and balance any negativity in the Etheric Aura, the one closest to the physical body.

My desk is literally surrounded by Louise Hay books. Even the thought of her puts a smile on my face. When I think of authentic selfcare I think of Louise Hay.

Louise Hay’s compassion and understanding of the human condition enabled her to communicate a message of change and open the hearts of many who felt alone and forgotten.

Her movie You Can Heal Your Life inspired me to take control of my own emotional, spiritual, and professional life. Through her own journey she inspired hope in others.

Today she transitioned at 90 years of ago and according to her Facebook Page she died peacefully surrounded by loved ones.

Her light will keep shining bright as Hay House continues to inspire thousands worldwide.

Here is the message to her fans on her Facebook page

louise hay quotes, louise hay passes away august 30th“Our beloved friend and founder Louise Hay transitioned this morning, August 30, 2017, of natural causes at age 90. She passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones.

Louise was an incredible visionary and advocate. Everyone who had the privilege to meet her, either in person, or through her words, felt her passion for serving others.

“Meeting Louise changed the direction of my life,” said Reid Tracy, President and CEO of Hay House, Inc. “Her passion for serving others translated into everything she did. Simply by working alongside her, an analytical accountant like me transformed into someone who became aware of the power of affirmations and self-love. Being able to learn from her has been one of my life’s greatest blessings. The beauty of Louise was that you didn’t have to work alongside her to learn from her, you felt like you were there with her, with every word you read or heard.”

Hay House will carry on Louise’s legacy and continue to publish products and online learning courses that align with her message of self-improvement and self-love.

Louise Hay’s estate, as well as all future royalties, will be donated to The Hay Foundation, a non-profit organization established by Louise that financially supports diverse organizations which supply food, shelter, counseling, hospice care and funds to those in need.

We invite you to share your Louise stories with us in the comments below. Together, we honor her through our memories and the continuing of her unforgettable legacy.

We love you, LuLu.

There is a radically different way to think about health. You may have heard about it, but are you clear on what it truly means, and the transformations it can yield in your mind, body and spirit?

You can fight or you can trust.

It’s really that simple.

In conventional medicine, the body is a faulty machine that needs to be monitored, tinkered with, and saved from itself through chemical and surgical interventions, the avoidance of which could spell disaster. Through the conventional lens, for example, it’s us versus the germs and if we get exposed to one, they get in and try to get us. Our only responsibility is to take antibiotics and symptom-managing over-the-counter drugs while we continue to punch the clock. If we choose not to take antibiotics, well then, infections can spread and even kill! It’s all about FEAR. The unexpected, the devastating, the fatal.

But there’s another story that you can ease into (or snap into in my case).

meme_Transformational

From this perspective, the body responds purposefully to it’s internal and external environment. Acute infectious illness – think coughing, diarrhea, sneezing, runny nose, night sweats – mobilizes cellular debris and can be seen as an effective and sophisticated method of detox when needed. In fact, based on our growing knowledge of the microbiome, some theorize that illness is simply a resonant activation of internal microorganisms when detox and recalibration are needed. We grow from the experience of acute illness in important ways – even if this means simply forcing you to pause and get into bed! In fact, you wouldn’t want to interfere with this, but rather support the body through it.

It’s a frame shift but a profound one.

It’s the difference between using a warring mentality and a peacekeeping one. I have progressed through a type of alternative medicine that in many ways, continues to see the body as a series of cogs and wheels with problems to be fixed by using supplements rather than with meds.

There’s something even more powerful that is possible and it involves honoring the body’s vast realms of unquantified wisdom, the power of belief, and the incredible potential for quantum leaps in self-healing when spirituality is included in the assessment.

Here’s what I had to say on the subject at the Functional Forum in Utah – 2016. Let me know what you think!

Welcome to our #SelfcareSunday series here on BeComplete where both myself and my contributors will look at great self care ideas from healing like Reiki to various treatments and days out… We hope you enjoy the series…

Many years ago, when I was on the start of my journey in spiritual development, I met an amazing woman in one of my classes who offered me a Reiki session.

Although I was aware its teachings and the overall concept, at that stage, I hadn’t fully explored its benefits. It was only after my studies at the Albert Finley College in London, when my fellow students and teachers, told me I was a naturally gifted healer, that I decided to explore and train in Reiki.

Reiki is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Force Energy. Rei meaning Spirit and Ki meaning Energy. It is the ancient art of hands on healing which is based on channeling spiritual energy. It was re-introduced by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan, during the 19th Century and is still used worldwide to the present day. It is a holistic method of healing; working on the body to help create Physical, Mental and Spiritual harmony and a feeling of wellbeing. Many hospitals in the USA recommend it as a treatment to their patients.

Typically, training and studies in Reiki can take a couple of years yet I found I was able to connect with Spirit and energy extremely quickly; completing my studies for Reiki One and then Reiki Two within less than twelve months, and going on to become a certified Reiki Master within a very short time thereafter.

Reiki is a very gentle, yet powerful method of healing. As we are all diverse individuals, and on different paths and stages in life, it is a unique experience for each person who receives it. Reiki has been proven to cleanse and help bring about harmony, through a detoxifying process and it promotes a positive attitude and mind set to each person. Depending on what is happening in a person’s Life, it may be necessary to receive more than one treatment, depending on the problem. Alternatively, one session is useful in times of stress or as a regular pick me up. Overall, the Reiki treatment usually lasts about an hour.

Before a treatment, the Reiki practitioner prepares the room in advance and spends some time tuning into the healing energy. The practitioner is a channel through which this Universal healing energy is passed, through their hands, to the person receiving the treatment. It cannot be specifically guided but it will flow of its own accord to where it is most needed in the body, and works at a subtle level on the physical, mental or emotional needs.

For the treatment, you will be asked to remove your shoes and lie down on a plinth or massage table. (You can also receive Reiki in a sitting position.) The Reiki practitioner will place their hands over energy points in the body to balance or shift stagnate energies and help to alleviate physical, mental and spiritual pain or discomfort.

When a Reiki treatment is given, the healing energy flows to where it is needed most and the recipient may often experience sensations of tingling, heat, cold or maybe just an awareness of the energy passing through them. This is the Reiki working. It stimulates the body’s natural healing ability at a deeper subconscious level, helping to remove physical or emotional blockages that may have been causing upset or illness.

Many different ailments benefit from Reiki such as tension, general aches and pains, headaches, and more. It offers relief from stress related issues or emotional worries and is a very relaxing and rewarding experience. Solutions to problems may arise during a treatment, or creative ideas may be activated and mental clarity enhanced. Old emotions or anger that has been repressed may also surface, allowing us to deal with them and move on with our Life. Toxins will be released from the body as the subtle healing takes place and the Reiki will continue to work for a couple of days following your treatment.

Twenty years later, I love nothing more than sharing my insights about how this wonderful form of healing can impact on everyone’s Life, adults and children alike!
