Well you’ve come to the right place! As the buddha said: “You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere.”
Minding Mum is a book about self-care and it’s aimed at mums in particular. This is an amazing gift book for a new mum and all mums. The reason I wrote it is that we all need to practice self-care and contrary to popular belief it’s not selfish to mind yourself. In fact, it’s the most SELFLESS thing you can do because when you take care of yourself, you have so much more of yourself – time, love and patience – to give to others.
Welcome to the Minding mum section of my website where you will find all the downloadable links to accompany my book. Here you can download a mummy feeding chart to make it easier to practice self-care after you have your baby. There is also a sample gratitude page for you to print out and use and of course my guided meditations to accompany the meditations from Chapter 8 in the book.
Minding Mum covers everything from nutrition, exercise, mindfulness and meditation, gratitude, stress, work life balance and much more. I also look at body image and the importance of watching how we talk to ourselves, as it’s the root cause of poor self-esteem. It’s a book for any mum who wants to feel good about themselves because I truly believe that our lifestyle habits are the root cause of all our health issues. Making just a few small changes to our daily routines (little happiness habits I like to call them) can have huge positive effects in our day-to-day lives.
We prepare women so well up to the birth of their child and then we leave them to it but I believe that after the baby arrives it is incredibly important to mind yourself after all you need your energy to look after your new baby so things like hydration, good food and rest are really important.
