      back-to-top

Where does the time go? It seems like 2012 just flew by. But then I sit and think of just how much happened this year. But instead of looking forward and always wanting more I really feel New Years Eve is a day to think about what you’ve been through and how far you’ve come. Its been a very tough year for most people but we’re still standing and that’s definitely something to be grateful for.

“People suffer when they choose a life or chase a dream that doesn’t belong to them” I read this quote from Carolyn May at the beginning of 2012 and was intrigued especially since my own story seemed to have been derailed or had it? This quote is particularly true to our culture. Sometimes we want to do what others are doing because it seems more exciting. Yes that age old “grass is always greener” syndrome. Its everywhere and responsible for so much unhappiness. But what is happiness?? From what I have learnt this year its not something I can buy, travel to or date. Its something that’s inside every single one of us and only you have the key to it. Yes you as an individual and you deserve happiness, everyone does. We need to change the way we think and understand that it takes just as much energy to worry as it does to believe in your dream. So use your energy to believe and not worry. This can be incredibly difficult if you’re stuck in a rut but believe me when I tell you the hard work will pay off. I’m a long time sufferer of depression and through sheer determination and hard work I have made the impossible possible.

“Every setback means you’re one step closer to seeing the dream come to pass” Pastor Joel Osteen. This quote has pushed me through some dark days when my life at the time seemed hopeless and helpless but what I have found this year is dreams do come true. The only thing about it is to make your dreams come true it takes a lot of work and passion but you will be rewarded just keep that goal post in sight. In other words you have to come to your closed doors to come to your open doors and I’ve had some slammers.

James has taught me the beauty of looking at the world through a child’s eyes again. A beautiful world full of possibilities and opportunities. I’m grateful for each day I wake up as I’ve lost so many close to me. I’m grateful for all the people who have come into my life this year. I would like to thank everyone who played a part no matter how big or small in making my dreams happen. I appreciate all the help, support and guidance i have been given. I’m a great believer in helping each other and looking out for each other. If you’re feeling sad and lonely please believe me that you’re not alone. There is help out there so please look for it. Tomorrow is about new beginnings, a fresh start. You’re past is exactly that your past so leave it there. Learn from your mistakes and make 2013 your year.
